About Ron
Rep. Ron Klein, who represents Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, is a first term Congressman who is an experienced leader with a solid record of service.

Ron fought for meaningful homeowner’s insurance reform as a senator in the state legislature, and brought his passion for the issue to Congress. Ron is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and serves on the House Committee on Financial Services. Ron also sits on the subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere and the subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade. One of Ron’s proudest accomplishments in the House was the passage of the Holocaust Education Act, which mandated the teaching about the lessons of the Holocaust in all of Florida’s public schools.

Ron is a graduate of The Ohio State University in 1979, and received his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1982. That same year, Ron married the former Dori Dragin, and together they moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1985, where he continued practicing law and involving himself in various community service activities.

On Armenian Issues
Even though he is a just a freshman Member of Congress, Klein has distinguished himself as a friend to the Armenian community by voting for the Armenian Genocide Resolution in the House Foreign Affairs Committee in October 2007 despite tremendous pressure from the Turkish lobby in his home district. Klein was one of the 27 Representatives who voted for HR 106 and delivered powerful and memorable remarks on the Committee floor.

For being a good friend and supporter of the Armenian-American community, Congressman Ron Klein is recognized as the deserving recipient of ARMENPAC’s September 2008, Member of the Month Honor.
