Jason P. Capizzi, Esq. (NJ)

Jason P. Capizzi earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law in New York City, and is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.  He was the Student Editor of The New York Environmental Lawyer, a publication of the New York State Bar Association, and has been published in various New York and New Jersey publications.  Mr. Capizzi earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cook College, Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  He was designated a George H. Cook Scholar, the highest academic honor conferred upon an undergraduate, and graduated with an International Environmental Policy major, a Political Science minor, and a Social Strategies for Environmental Protection certificate.

Mr. Capizzi was Counsel to New Jersey Governors Richard J. Codey and James E. McGreevey, having represented each at the board meetings of the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission; the NJ Highlands Council; the State Agriculture Development Commission; Election Law Enforcement Commission; Urban Enterprise Zone Authority; South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization; NJ State Museum Board of Trustees; NJ Development Authority for Small Businesses, Minorities’ and Women’s Enterprises; and, Delaware River Basin Commission.  He was also appointed as New Jersey’s Alternate Commissioner on the Atlantic Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Compact Commission by Governor McGreevey, and oversaw the proper disposal of low-level radioactive waste generated within the State.  

Mr. Capizzi also served as Acting Director of the Armenian-American Action Committee (ARAMAC), and is an alumnus of the Armenian Assembly’s Summer Internship Program, having worked in the Washington, D.C. offices of former United States Senator John Glenn (D-OH) and the Northeast Midwest Institute.  He has also worked in the district office of United States Congressman Steven R. Rothman (D-NJ), and managed the election campaign of a candidate for the New Jersey General Assembly.   Mr. Capizzi was also a Summer Intern to a New York State Supreme Court Justice.

Mr. Capizzi is a member of the St. Leon Armenian Apostolic Church in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, where he was ordained a SubDeacon by His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian.  Mr. Capizzi has been an active member of the Armenian Community, having attended various Diocesan Summer Camps and Programs.  He is a former President of the St. Leon Chapter of the Armenian Church Youth Organization of America, and was an active member of the Armenian Church Sports Association.  Mr. Capizzi is also a former President of the Rutgers University Armenian Society.
