The thin but important line between Administrators and Legislators

12:06:46 pm, by ARMENPAC, Categories: GUYZOG's Posts

In our system of government, the differences in responsibilities between the legislative and executive branch are clear. Legislators are elected by their constituents, to best represent their interests in Congress and administration officials (including ranking military leaders) are appointed by the President and serve at his pleasure.

It is not only understandable, but frankly it is expected, that appointed military leaders will carry out the orders of their particular Commander-in-Chief, especially during times of war. This type of dutiful service, however, should extend to that persons direct responsibilities and, should not put that person in a position to advocate or lobby for the President’s policies with legislators.

Primary Campaigns and a Party’s Ability to Lead

01:51:44 pm, by ARMENPAC, Categories: GUYZOG's Posts

Regardless of your personal party affiliation or which candidate you think would best serve our country in the White House, most people can agree that the 2008 election will provide this country with a different, and for the most part, welcomed change in national leadership.

It is financially bankrupt to a point where it could lose its sovereignty. Its contaminated culture has been turned into a morass. Invasion of illegal masses are inundating, while its traditional strength (middle class) is disintegrating with the creation of one-worldism, and debilitating taxation.

by Congressman Joe Knollenberg

Last week marked the 93rd anniversary of the systematic and deliberate annihilation of the Armenians by the Ottoman Empire. To mark this solemn occasion, I took part in two events honoring the victims of the genocide.

At St. John’s Armenian Church in Southfield, Michigan I joined with hundreds of Armenian-Americans to pay homage to 1.5 million innocent men, women, and children that perished almost a century ago.

Statement by the President on Armenian Remembrance Day

03:54:53 pm, by ARMENPAC, Categories: ARMENPAC's Posts

White House News
April 24, 2008

On this day of remembrance, we honor the memory of the victims of one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century, the mass killings and forced exile of as many as 1.5 million Armenians at the end of the Ottoman Empire. I join the Armenian community in America and around the world in commemorating this tragedy and mourning the loss of so many innocent lives.
